Correction and clarification
What an Authority Review can change
An Authority Review can help correct or clarify business identity, business name, website, location, contact information, and other factual details associated with a business record.
It does not remove or rewrite accurately preserved historical observations simply because authority over the business record has been established. The Active Observatory preserves what was publicly observable at the time it was observed.
When a preserved observation was associated with the wrong business, Authority Review may correct that attribution while preserving the underlying historical observation appropriately.
Authoritative context
Add authoritative context to your business record
Establishing authority can do more than correct a record. An authorized business representative may provide additional business details that help make the public record more complete and useful.
This can include the business’s preferred name, canonical website, business description, service areas, services offered, and other factual information that may not be reliably available from public observation alone.
Information submitted by an authorized representative should be identified as business-provided information, distinct from observations independently collected by The Active Observatory.
- Observed by The Active Observatory
- Independently collected public observations.
- Provided by an authorized business representative
- Information supplied after authority is established.
